My Little Indians

Here are my wide eyed boys at 6:00 am. Bryce usually comes in first to tell us that it's "morning time guys", and then he rips the curtains back to show us that the sun is yes...JUST coming up! But they are ready to start their day...orange juice in hand...sitting side by side...watching their favorite cartoons. They have been limited to weekend mornings only on the t.v., so they are taking full advantage of the air time:)The boys finally got some outdoor time today. Although the fires weren't near us, we certainly received our dose of smoke over the weekend. We actually had Brennen stay home from his soccer game on Saturday...but today was much better and perfect for Indian costumes. You gotta love Bryce's "surfer Indian" look.

Here we have Brennen practicing his fire starting skills (thank God he doesn't really have any).
I'm not sure what Bryce was trying to accomplish with this little stare he was giving me, but he couldn't wait to see what it turned out like on the camera. As soon as I snapped the photo he wanted to see it...
so I snapped another one before I showed him his "best shots". So, another weekend down. They go by so fast. Hope you have a wonderful week! Until next time....

P.S. Thank you to everyone who was praying for our family and friends last week during the horrific fires here in California. They have since been able to return home to clean up and get things back to normal. I know they feel blessed to do so, as several people they know lost their homes.

"Mr. Independant"

We are going through an interesting phase in our household....only with Bryce though. You see, Brennen wears a uniform and Rich has his own personal stylist on hand at all times. Yes, he's really moving up in the world...and I don't make a dime for my services! Brycee boy however, is able to freely express himself each day as he dresses for school. He's actually doing a pretty great job of coordinating as you can see....camo on camo and my personal favorite is the Miami Vice look he continues to strive for. He attends school at a friends house, so this is the perfect place to test his high fashion sense. He takes after his mom in that area :) Couldn't resist snapping photos the last two mornings as he comes out of his room proudly ready for breakfast. These are the days....

Happy Fall!

Today was a special day for Bryce. He had his own field trip (one of which he did not have to share mommy!) We had a great day at the pumkin patch in Yucaipa. It was much warmer than I would have liked for a Fall day, but that's good ol' So Cal for ya. We might have to do round two so that we can at least sip on some cider. Ran into several great friends that we miss so much (Yucaipa is where we lived right before La Quinta...it's hard to keep up sometimes)

This was a pretty big stack of hay bails that Bryce was climbing on. He loved being king of the mountain (of hay)

This is Cole...and Bryce's best buddy at school. Cole's older brother was in Brennen's class last year. They make quite a foursome...then add the Phillips boys...yikes:)

Oh little Annie...Brycee is very sweet with her. This is my friend Mia's daughter...and sister to the "Phillips boys". Are you getting all this?

Wouldn't this freak you out? This was the highlight of Bryce's day. The goat actually chewed a hole in his shirt. While I was taking this picture, one of the goats was chomping on my hoodie that was around my waist. One I bought while shopping with Phaedra....need I say more? You may have guessed it was NOT the highlight of my day!

Bryce and I had a great time and plan to take Brennen back too. Until next time....

Organized Clutter

border: solid lpx black;
I love it when my friends or other moms share new finds, things they love, stuff they can't live without or my favorite...things that make life easier. So...while Pottery Barn definitely doesn't need me to advertise for them, I thought I would post a photo of what used to be clutter. It's the "Stanton Peg Board". Now that the kids are in school full time, AWANA and soccer... we have had homework, books, folders, schedules, artwork and pencil boxes on the kitchen table or covering the fridge. While this may not be a problem for you (yet :) it has helped us out a bunch. Until next time....

Family Reunion at the Metsgar's

Thanks to Laura and Darrin for hosting our family reunion. We all had a blast visiting, laughing, looking at old pictures, laughing some more and of course eating lots of great food. It was wonderful having all the little one's together...the "kid table" was pretty funny. Little Jilly fits right in too. So, what do you say we make this a Fall tradition?

Soccer Saturday!

As many of you know...we are on the go all the time. Rarely is there a weekend when we stay home. This is one reason why I love soccer season. We are forced to wake up at a leisurely hour (in our own beds), sip on some yummy coffee, eat a great breakfast and just enjoy the morning. Brennen had his first game today. He was pretty excited to get his florescent green uniform on and head to the field. We definitely won't have a problem locating the team on game day!

So, the coach put Brennen in as goalie today. I think I have heard that it makes moms nervous when their kids play this position...it's true. He did make a few stops, but I have to say that several...and I mean quite a few...snuck by him. What I loved most of all, was that right as the ball would "sneak" by, he would look over at me and smile. He was having a blast! Hopefully his coach see this quality in him too!! He actually has a great understanding of the game, and with more practice (they have had 1) I think he will do great!
Bryce can't wait to play soccer. The funny thing is...he really doesn't know that he's not! As you can see he has a great uniform.... and with the minor issue of not having a team, things are looking great for him. He practices, scores lots of goals on the sidelines, swindles a snack from the coach's cooler and I'm sure will manage a trophy at the pizza party!
I absoloutely love this picture of Bryce. This picture defines him really. He is so much fun, so full of energy and so carefree. He makes all of us crack up all the time. He is much like Rich, where he goes and goes from sun up to sun down...and then falls asleep as soon as he hits the pillow. Speaking of that, it's time to clean those rug rats and get them to bed.

Until next time....

SeaWorld with the Weavers

Thanks to the Weaver family for sharing such a great time with us this past weekend. We were able to purchase 2 day tickets for the price of one...so we decided to make it a "vacation", as Jesse Weaver would call it. I never knew there was so much to see there. (for those of you who need a reminder...Jim Weaver was our best man going on 11 years ago and next to him is lovely wife Christina) We are so blessed by their friendship! Can you believe how good lookin' these kids are? Bryce, Brennen, Shaylin and Jesse couldn't believe we were staying in a hotel AND going to SeaWorld again the next day! They were all so good and very appreciative. The Mommy's had a pretty good time too. We had our share of fun, treats and laughs (mostly at the dad's)Brennen took a few of these pictures. He's getting pretty good huh? He had to get a photo of the crazy duo. Just when you think your husband is "one of a kind" (and I mean that in the nicest way possible:) .... well you get the idea! They really are great guys and definitely managed to keep us all entertained. We still haven't decided who had the most fun or ate the most junk food, the dad's or the kids!
okay...I guess Bryce wins in the junk food department. Can you believe the size of that sucker? I'm sure you can imagine how this scenario plays out....
You Guessed it...I bet you feel sticky just looking at this picture!! He would have eaten the whole thing if I let him. I said "hey Brycee, we're going to wrap this up and save it for later". I probably don't need to tell you where it went. Amazingly he never asked for it. He did have the greatest time though. He played so hard on Saturday that he literally fell over asleep at the table while he was attempting to eat dinner. I wish I hadn't left my camera in the car...those would have been some great photos!

Need you ask if Brennen enjoyed himself? These two were inseperable...I don't think they stopped talking to eachother all weekend. We had to tear them away to get them into bed at nearly 10pm. and Shaylin was at our hotel door bright and early the next morning.

Looking forward to the next Weaver/Lenarth gathering. We love you guys!!
